Chapter 03 #31

b) Siege Notes

During the siege of Boston, American troops created a makeshift currency known as “Siege Notes.” This emergency currency was used by the Continental Army and the local populace as a means of trade and commerce during the blockade. The Siege Notes were a practical response to the scarcity of official currency and the economic challenges posed by the siege. This ingenuity in the face of adversity is a testament to the resourcefulness of the American forces during the early stages of the Revolutionary War.
