Chapter 04 #36

a) Drafting the U.S. Constitution

The major success of the Philadelphia Convention was in formulating the United States Constitution. Convened in 1787 to address the weaknesses of the Articles of Confederation, the Convention led to the creation of a new constitution that provided a stronger framework for national governance. The Constitution established the federal government’s structure, delineated powers between the states and the federal government, and incorporated checks and balances. The drafting of the Constitution was a landmark achievement in American history, laying the foundation for the United States’ governance and legal system.
