Chapter 10 #19

c) Registering Black Voters

The 1964 Freedom Summer campaign in Mississippi was primarily focused on registering Black voters. Despite facing significant violence and resistance, Freedom Summer activists succeeded in bringing national attention to the struggle for civil rights and the importance of voting rights for African Americans.
