Chapter 01 #15

b) French and Indian War

The French and Indian War, spanning from 1754 to 1763, was a critical conflict that set the stage for the American Revolution. This war between the British and the French, with various Native American tribes allied to each side, was essentially a battle for control over North America. The war’s outcome, which ended in British victory and the Treaty of Paris, significantly altered the balance of power in North America. The war’s financial strain on Britain led to increased taxation in the colonies, fueling colonial resentment and paving the way for the American Revolution.
