d) Boston Tea Party
The Boston Tea Party of 1773 was a defining act of defiance against British taxation. In response to the Tea Act, which granted the British East India Company a monopoly on tea sales in America, colonists in Boston, disguised as Mohawk Indians, boarded three ships and dumped 342 chests of tea into Boston Harbor. This event was a dramatic statement of opposition to the principle of taxation without representation and ignited a spark that fueled the revolutionary movement. The Boston Tea Party remains a symbol of civil disobedience and the colonists’ unyielding spirit of resistance.
