c) Seven
The U.S. Constitution includes seven foundational articles outlining the structure and powers of the government. These articles establish the three branches of government—legislative, executive, and judicial—and delineate their respective powers and responsibilities. The Constitution’s first three articles define the Congress, the Presidency, and the Federal Judiciary. The remaining articles address issues of federalism, the process of amending the Constitution, the supremacy of federal law, and the ratification process. The seven articles provide the framework for the functioning of the United States government and the balance of power among its different branches.
