Chapter 08 #20

c) Margaret Sanger

Margaret Sanger led the early 20th-century crusade for birth control and women’s health rights. A nurse and activist, Sanger opened the first birth control clinic in the United States and founded organizations that evolved into Planned Parenthood. Her advocacy was instrumental in changing public attitudes toward contraception and led to greater reproductive freedom for women. Sanger’s work was pivotal in the broader movement for women’s rights and health care reform.
