Chapter 12 #32

b) Warren G. Harding

Warren G. Harding, the 29th President of the United States, often criticized for the scandals that marred his administration, holds the distinction of being the first president to visit Alaska while in office. Harding’s presidency, though short-lived from 1921 to 1923, was marked by significant events and policy decisions. His visit to Alaska in 1923 was part of a larger tour to promote his policies and engage with Americans. Harding’s administration, however, is predominantly remembered for the Teapot Dome scandal and other instances of corruption, overshadowing his efforts to navigate post-World War I challenges.
